John has been a preacher and a teacher for over forty-five years. He has taught public school at the junior and senior high level, he has taught at the college level at Mott Community College in Flint, MI, at Mohave Community College in Kingman, AZ, at Lubbock Christian University in Lubbock, TX, at Auburn University at Montgomery, AL and at Faulkner University in Montgomery, AL. He has taught English, History, psychology, sociology, drama and directed the school chorus. He has coached tennis, football, baseball and basketball.
In addition to preaching and teaching, he has worked as a mail carrier, auto mechanic, paper boy, welder, communications coordinator, owned and operated a truck washing business, a fire wood business, been a tennis and golf instructor, worked with the CETA program, and stacked shelves in a grocery store.
John is in demand as a humorous, inspirational, and motivational speaker for athletic, educational, fund raising banquets, graduations, and various other after dinner events. He speaks for college chapel services, and devotionals. He conducts at least twenty weekend seminars at various churches around the country each year.
